AFSIA gathers again alongside Frankurt Moot for Roundtable on investment protection and the EU

Following the success of last year's roundtable, AFSIA again organises a roundtable conference on Current Issues in Investment Arbitration Practice, alongside the Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court held at Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main.

This year's roundtable deals with issues surrounding investment protection and the EU, and takes place on 12 March 2012 at 2 pm.

The roundtable will be chaired by Dr. Sabine Konrad (K&L Gates, Frankfurt; AFSIA Steering Committee), and will feature the following presentations:

  • The interaction between EU law and public international law
    (Sergiy Gryshko, CMS Cameron McKenna LLC, Kyiv)
  • The proposed grandfathering regulations for extra-EU BITs and the implications of these proposals for both existing and new extra-EU BITs
    (Greg Falkof, Eversheds LLP, London)
  • The interaction between current EU law and intra-EU BITs
    (Dr. Erhard Böhm, Baier Böhm Rechtsanwalte, Vienna)
  • The EU Commission – amicus or inimicus?
    (Christophe Guibert de Bruet, King & Spalding, Paris)
  • The outside perspective - How Non-EU Member States view the developments
    (Irina Nazarova, Engarde Attorneys at Law, Kyiv)
