Alumni & Friends of the School of International Arbitration
Just like in 2011, the School of International Arbitration has been shortlisted for the Contribution to best practice award at the GAR 2nd Annual Arbitration Awards. This event is organized by Global Arbitration Review alongside the IBA Conference. Other nominees in this category are Africa International Legal Awareness, Institute for Transnational Arbitration, ICC, LCIA, ICCA, Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, OGEMID and ASA.
Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Julian Lew QC, Head of the SIA, is one of the nominees in the category Best Lecture or Speech Award for his ICC UK Conference Keynote speech entitled "Is Arbitration Meeting the Demands of Users?". Among the nominees in the same category is Toby Landau QC, who delivered this year's Freshfields Arbitration Lecture - organised jointly with the SIA every year - on the topic "Saving Investment Arbitration From Itself".
Winners in all categories will be announced at an awards ceremony on 8th March in Stockholm on the eve of the IBA's Arbitration Day.
