One of AFSIA’s main goals being the offering of a platform for alumni and friends of the School of International Arbitration to share and exchange information from their own experience, the task of the Academic Group is to take initiatives to encourage and monitor such exchange.

Dr Stavros Brekoulakis

Stavros Brekoulakis is an academic who works and advises on dispute resolution matters. His legal expertise focuses on arbitration in the context of international business transactions, affecting construction projects, shipping and insurance contracts, international trade, investments, trading agreements with developing countries, Eastern Europe and EC law. He lectures on International Commercial Arbitration, Construction Arbitration, International and European Litigation at Queen Mary, University of London. His academic work includes monographs and several articles in leading legal journals.
Dr Sabine Konrad
Partner at K&L Gates LLP, Paris (France)
Sabine is a partner at K&L Gates LLP in Paris since 2009. Her practice focuses on international dispute resolution, in particular international arbitration and public international law. She regularly advises investors and governments, publishes extensively on investment arbitration and also sits as an arbitrator. She was appointed by Germany as member of the Panel of Arbitrators of ICSID in 2007. She was involved in setting up the Frankfurt International Arbitration Center and is a co-founder of the Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court. Sabine is a German qualified attorney and a Fellow at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. In 2005, she obtained a diploma in International Commercial Arbitration at the School of International Abitration.
